Collection: Pearl Studs
There’s quite a few so it only seemed right to give them their own space !
Now .. as I said I have quite a few but there will be more to add. I do have some ‘less’ perfect pearls with plain silver posts that are a bit less expensive as they are not rhodium plated. I’ll add those asap but please email me if you are interested.
Differences explained …
Rhodium plated … the post is hypoallergenic and resistant to tarnish. Rhodium is one of the purest and most expensive metal per gram. It’s what is used to plate white gold and give it that beautiful bright shine and colour. It is also known as white gold plating. It is not impossible that they will tarnish though .. jewellery that is in constant contact with skin that exudes oils. These can ‘eat’ through the plate to expose the sterling silver.
Plain Sterling Silver .. the post is sterling silver and not plated with anything. It is not common to have allergies to sterling silver but not unknown. Some people occasionally have reactions. This is usually to the copper content that is always in sterling silver. It is the copper that oxidises with air and makes it go black or ‘tarnished’
